Our Commitment to a Greener Future
CoStar Cwmbran is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our community by fostering sustainable practices and promoting environmental responsibility. Since our inception in 2000, we have been at the forefront of green initiatives, working tirelessly to tackle poverty, improve health and wellbeing, and combat loneliness and isolation. Our dedicated team, alongside our invaluable volunteers, operates from two key sites: The Threepenny Bit Community Centre and the Community Hwb at Fairwater shops. Through our various projects, including a community café and garden, we aim to create a vibrant and inclusive environment that supports our mission of sustainability and community development.
Our Green Initiatives
Paint Reuse Scheme
Our innovative paint reuse scheme diverts surplus paint from landfills, giving it a new life in community projects and reducing environmental waste.
Food Redistribution Project
Through our partnership with Fareshare, we redistribute surplus food to those in need, minimizing waste and supporting local families.
Community Amnesty Skips
Designed to prevent fly-tipping, our community amnesty skips offer a responsible way to dispose of unwanted items, promoting a cleaner environment.
Litter Hub Initiative
As a registered litter hub with Keep Wales Tidy, we provide equipment for hire, empowering residents to participate in community clean-up efforts.
